I have an eighth grade graduate this spring. There are plenty of ideas for high school and college graduates but shopping for this age group is a little trickier. Still child-like and innocent in many ways but they are becoming more independent with each passing day. In midlife, we learn to follow our bliss and encourage and support other women to do the same. I love my lunches with girlfriends. They inspire me and give me the courage to try new things. Born and raised in Michigan, I moved to Washington, D.C. after graduating from the University of Michigan. I received my law degree from Georgetown University and worked briefly as a lawyer before pursuing a decade-long career as a congressional aide on Capitol Hill. These days I am a work from home mom of three kids in Arlington, Virginia. I love to make connections, build my mom network, and share a good tip with a girlfriend (over lunch, of course).
