I’ve been so focused on Christmas that New Year’s Eve hasn’t even been on my radar. But it’s only a week away! No matter how you decide to celebrate you should definitely do it as stylishly as possible.

New Year’s Eve is usually a low key celebration for us. We stay in with the kids, make a nice dinner, and watch a movie or play games. Even so, I’ll still want to pull out something sparkly and festive to wear. If you are headed out to celebrate — if there is ever a time to show off an outfit — it’s on New Year’s Eve. Here are some New Year’s Eve outfit ideas you can copy right now to suit the mood you are going for.

You can never go wrong with a little sparkle on New Year’s Eve. On top I’m wearing a surplice camisole with a metallic design. I happen to have a pair of bejeweled denim jeans. Because the detail is on the bottom it doesn’t compete with the metallic top. If you are attending a casual gathering, sneakers — like this rose gold basketball sneaker, are a fun way to add a little shine to your outfit.
Sophisticated Glam
Pleated Midi Skirt (only $40!) available at Zara
Pleated skirts have been trending for a while now. I love the look of a pleated skirt with a turtleneck or sweater. I also like to wear my pleated skirt with a statement tee. For this look, I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a black sock bootie and a white faux fur coat to keep me warm. A rhinestone belt was the finishing touch to add a little New Year’s Eve sparkle. I love how this outfit turned out. It’s on trend and a little different from what everyone else will be wearing.
