It’s currently snowing where I am but I’ve got my mind on spring anyway. I’ve been taking mental notes of the clothing trends for the new spring season. I’ve narrowed it down to six trends you should be thinking about when you are updating your wardrobe in the coming months.
Chunky Sneaker
Chunky sneakers have been popular for awhile and they are not going away anytime soon. I’m pretty happy about that because they are so comfortable to wear! I’m partial to the chunky all-white trainer and the wedge sneaker. And don’t get me started on anything that sparkles. Chunky sneakers can be worn in place of any other shoe you might ordinarily wear with a skirt, dress, pants, or leggings.
Leopard Skirt
Leopard is definitely having a fashion moment right now. For the spring, look for the print on skirts and dresses. If you’re over leopard (and I wouldn’t blame you if you are by now if you jumped on the trend early) opt for another animal print on skirts and dresses this season.
Wide Leg Pants
I love the cyclical nature of fashion. Just when a trend has been around a while (and you are ready for a change) it’s just a matter of time before the pendulum swings back and something else gains popularity. We’ve been all about the skinny jean for so long that I’m so excited that the wide leg pant is making a comeback. Add a high-waisted wide leg pant into your rotation this spring.
Tortoise Earrings

Tortoise jewelry will be everywhere this spring. I like to add a tortoise earring to my everyday outfit. I love that it works well with just about every color.
Headbands
Scarf headbands will be the “it” accessory for your spring/summer hair styles. They can be worn around your whole head (like a crown) or in the traditional headband way. You’ll even see this look pop up in alternate forms like a scrunchie hair scarf that makes it easier to tie around your pony tail.
Statement Menswear Blazer

A bold-hued statement blazer is an essential update to your spring wardrobe. They are being worn scrunched up at the elbows and many of them come with ruching to simply creating this effect.
