We’ve been blessed with a beautiful early fall but the colder temperatures are starting to settle in. It’s finally sweater weather! Another season, another step closer to 2021 my friends!
Clothes give me hope
I’ve learned something about myself this year. Clothes give me hope. Having something new in my closet gives me hope that things might change. I hope I’ll have places to go and events to socialize at again soon. But even if none of that materializes, the simple gift of having something new to wear brings me joy.
Putting together an outfit lifts my spirits even if no one appreciates the effort but me. So I’ll continue to do so and I encourage anyone that’s feeling a little blah to do the same. Get overdressed for the grocery store. Get overdressed for the soccer game. Get overdressed (on top) for your zoom call. Make them ask you, “why are you so dressed up today?” Because it’s all about you and how you feel and here’s a truth bomb girlfriends — when you look good, you will feel good — and feeling good is what we’re all about these days.
1. Ruched Sleeve Crewneck || 2. Mock Neck Balloon Sleeve Sweater || 3. Slouchy V Neck Tunic Sweater || 4. Fuzzy Turtleneck Sweater || 5. Fringe Sweater Jacket || 6. Round Neck Puff Sleeve || 7. Ruffle Sleeve Sweater || 8. Puff Sleeve Hooded Sweater
What’s new in sweaters these days? Sleeve detail. Balloon sleeves and gathering at the shoulder seem to create a puff. Yes, it’s reminiscent of the 80s big shoulder trend. You don’t have to go big and balloon-y — the size of the puff or balloon sleeve is dependent on you. You can find tops with minimal shoulder gathering to bigger statement sleeves. The bigger the detail the more drama it adds. But like I said earlier, if you want to wear a big, dramatic sleeve to a grocery store then go ahead and do it. Because the only person you need to please is you.
