I find the quickest and easiest way to accessorize and brighten up an otherwise simple outfit is to pair it with a bold statement earring or clutch (or both). Styling your statement accessories with a solid color is a great way to add a pop of color to a simple summer top or dress.
A really striking color combination is to pair a bold color dress with a bold color earring and clutch. Take a look at the color wheel and choose a color opposite the color you are wearing on the color wheel.
Without the pop of color to brighten up the dress, the outfit is still pretty but less interesting, no? Compare the two looks that follow.

See what a difference the bold contrasting color makes? The first look is pretty but the addition of the bold color gives the outfit an extra punch and really helps it feel more like summer.
