I love spring for many reasons but a big one for me — especially this year — is the announcement of upcoming concerts coming my way. I’ve been a huge fan of music my entire life. As a teen, I spent nearly all my hard-earned money from my after-school job at Ticketmaster and I accumulated a lot of concert tees along the way. Detroit always had a vibrant music scene and a better selection of alternative music than what I found when I moved to the D.C. area after college. Anyone else grow up listening to 89X?
One of my favorite parts of concerts and music festivals has always been seeing the array of fashion choices that pop up among my fellow concert goers. It’s always interesting people watching! Concert and festival fashion is a big deal now. Retro band tee shirts are main stream. So many of our current fashion trends are dictated by the boho style of clothing that is inspired by Coachella.
Look number 1 is my go-to summer uniform: a cami or tank paired with denim cutoff shorts. A billowy duster or kimono adds the festival vibe inspired by Coachella and can do double duty as a swimsuit coverup in the summer.

Look number 2 starts with a hippie chic maxi dress with a floral or Native American-inspired motif (a flowy skirt is an alternative). Add a belt and hat with a Western vibe to get the Coachella feel. You can wear the belt throughout the season with your denim cut offs and the hat will keep you protected from the sun. My favorite bralette will keep you covered up for some of the more daring cut dresses.

Finally, look number 3 is your basic concert or rock band tee shirt (a favorite statement tee is a nice alternative) with flared pants and a leather belt bag with concho embellishments
