Girlfriends, I was recently asked how to look and feel pretty and stylish during the winter blah we are in right now. Layers are the key! Every layer adds interest to the outfit. Layers also allow you to add warmth if you need it.
A bralette is a great base to start with because it’s a little different from the usual tee shirt + cardigan combination. This Free People bralette has the most darling lace detail. I’ve had a chance to wear it a few times already and I absolutely love it! It comes in a variety of colors and I’m already thinking about what color I’ll get next. I’m wearing an extra small for size reference. Wearing something as pretty as this really helps me beat the winter blues.
You can wear a bralette under a loose tank top and layer a cardigan over it or wear it beneath an off the shoulder sweater. There also many cute but more revealing sweaters (like this cozy cross front sweater from Cupcakes + Cashmere) that a bralette pairs well with. I borrowed this one from a Northern Virginia boutique, Scout & Molly’s in the Mosaic District — it’s on sale for $50. In addition to this sweater they also have a great selection of my favorite DL1961 jeans. Go check them out!
