Red is red hot on the fashion scene this year. And, since it’s also the season to be merry and joyful, it’s the perfect hue to wear to your holiday festivities. I hadn’t thought much about the significance of the color red for the holiday season but a girlfriend just told me that it became popular because the color is associated with feelings of warmth and love. It pairs with green, naturally, because evergreen is used for decoration during the winter season. I’d never stopped to think about that before but it makes perfect sense.
Regardless, I love that red is so popular at the moment. I have cool undertones in my skin so I look best in bright, jewel tones. Wearing red is right up my alley! You can read more about determining your best colors here. But don’t fret if you look best in warm colors. I’ve seen some pretty amazing shades of red — everything from orange-y reds, to deep, cool reds, to burgundies — in jumpsuits, dresses, and velvet jackets. There’s something for everyone! If red is too bold for your personal taste, you can subtly incorporate it in your purse or shoes for a fun pop of color.
I bought this red jumpsuit to wear to our dear friends’ daughter’s Bat Mitzvah last month. I instantly fell in love with the color. And there’s nothing more comfortable than a jumpsuit for dancing the night away. While this one is sold out, I’ve linked below to some similar styles below. There are a lot of great holiday party options to choose from.
