So one of your girlfriends just threw together a royal wedding viewing soiree and you’re wondering what to wear? Obviously you don’t want to spend a lot of money on this one but you do want to look the part on a budget. I got you girlfriend. Read on to get my style tips on what to wear.
The best, easiest, and least expensive course of action is to head to my favorite place to find fashionable clothing and get your grocery shopping done in one stop: Target. Once you get there, make a bee line for the accessories department. On a budget you’ll be able to pick up stylish and expensive-looking accessories: a floppy hat, trendy earrings, and a clutch to create your outfit. If you are heading to Preakness later Saturday you’ll be one and done. You’ll get tons of wear out of these items throughout the summer too. Pair these accessories with your favorite LBD or another solid color dress you already own and you’re in business. The accessories will tie the outfit together and make it look cohesive.
Floppy Hat
I snagged this black and white floppy hat on a recent visit solely intending to wear it at the beach and pool this summer. At $15 it’s too cute and stylish to pass it by. It also is the perfect statement hat for your royal wedding viewing party. The black and white stripes are bold. You can pair it with a LBD you already own or opt for a bold and bright solid color dress or jumpsuit.
Statement Earrings
Once you’ve selected your hat and dress the bulk of the outfit is already together. Here’s where the little details come into play and make the look more cohesive. Statement earrings like these can tie together the look. If you opt for a LBD, choose contrasting color earrings to brighten up your outfit. Color is so appropriate for a festive occasion like a wedding. If you choose to wear another bold color dress or jumpsuit then the easiest course of action is to choose gold statement earrings or match the color of your outfit. You don’t want to add too many colors to your palette. Stick to three and you’ll be fine.
The Clutch
The clutch is an important accessory to tie together your colors. Once again if you are wearing an LBD, you can simply coordinate the color of your earrings with your clutch. If you opted to wear another color dress or jumpsuit, a black clutch works well and is something you probably already have at home. Another neutral, like a gold clutch is easy too.
Most of us already have a strappy sandal or pump at home. Black, gold, or nude are virtually foolproof. Voila! You are ready to kickback and celebrate!
