I read once that the average person only wears twenty percent of what’s in their closet. That has stuck with me over the years. I think most of us hang on to way too much stuff. We rationalize holding on to clothing items we haven’t worn in years with the idea that a future need might arise or that an item might come back in style. In reality, it usually doesn’t. And when a clothing trend comes back around, most of us are gonna want to get a newer, updated version anyway.
Knowing how much work it is to pare down a closet, I really put a lot of thought into a purchase before I make it. If a piece is not going to add value to what I already have I don’t buy it. For me, adding value means wearability and versatility. I think about how often I will be able to wear an item and whether it could have multiple functions. I love adding pieces to my wardrobe that can do double duty — dressed up or dressed down — those pieces are easy to say yes to. I love this bodysuit for just that reason. Not only is it a great price, it’s been doing double duty in my wardrobe lately. I love to wear it with a chambray skirt for a more casual look. Paired with a flowy maxi skirt it takes on a whole new vibe for date night. This particular strappy bodysuit is sold out but there are similar styles available here and here.
I hope you love these looks for fall as much as I do. If you are looking for versatile pieces for your wardrobe check out the tops below.
