It hasn’t gotten that cold yet in D.C. but it’s cold enough to layer outfits with jackets and coats. If you’ve been here before then you know how obsessed I am with faux fur. I’ve been loving the teddy coat trend this year. When I saw this teddy coat at the Nordstrom anniversary sale this summer I knew I had to have it (even though it was hard to imagine then why I would need a coat when it was 95 degrees outside). I have quite a few faux fur jackets in my closet but this is my first longer length faux fur coat.

The teddy coat has quickly become one of my favorite things to wear as the weather gets cooler. Quite honestly it lives up to its name and feels like a warm hug. The faux fur is so soft it’s almost as if whoever came up with the idea wanted the feel of being wrapped in a faux fur throw from their living room. I’ve been wearing it with sweater dresses, jeans, and turtleneck sweaters. If I’m going out, I like to pull on a dress over my head, throw on some boots, add my staple jewelry and be out the door. For everyday, I pull on my favorite jeans, throw on a turtleneck and slip on sneakers or boots. Throw a teddy coat on over each of those looks and the extra layer makes the more outfit interesting by adding color and texture.

I can’t wait to wear my teddy bear coat from Nordstrom! I ordered large and it was a bit big so I got medium instead and perfect. Hope you are running column on what to wear to holiday parties!
I’m so glad you like your teddy coat. Sizing with coats is always tricky — I think it often depends on how broad or narrow you are in the shoulders arms to get a good fit and whether you want it a little looser. For me, I tend to go larger but I’m glad the smaller size worked for you. I’ll definitely be writing about holiday party attire so stay tuned. Thanks for reading!
