I’ve got a confession to make: I’m obsessed with faux fur. I’ve got at least four faux fur coats (say that six times fast) hanging in my closet at the moment. While I’m not much of a fan of winter, I do get excited for this time of year because I get to break out my fur. I’m so obsessed with faux fur I pretty much look for it in everything I wear in the winter. Faux fur trimmed winter coat — check! Faux fur accented winter boots — yep. Faux fur lined Uggs — um, yeah . . . got those too.

I think in the past fur had a reputation for being gaudy and was usually only worn by the ultra-rich or old ladies. I know I’m not the former and hopefully I’m not the latter, so lucky for me the stigma with wearing fur (the fake kind anyway) seems to be a thing of the past. Faux fur is huge right now. Every time I turn around I see another piece I’m dying to buy. It’s taking a lot of restraint on my part not to fill my closet with these gems. Faux fur coats are turning up as bomber jackets, ombre, and chevron print coats in longer lengths, and as capes.

A fur coat can instantly dress up any outfit and make it look more posh than it really is. Because I’m a casual dresser, I wear my fur coats mostly with jeans and tees, but they work great with dresses too and everything in between. They are the perfect accessory for holiday party attire if you’ve already begun to think about that. Faux fur coats are also very warm. No more excuses for not looking stylish when it’s a little breezy out (okay, so yeah, we’ve already had some pretty cold days and it’s only November). Your fur coat will keep you warm and snuggly through March. You can bet I’ll be bringing one to Michigan with me this week.
